| Powerdial: Cross band VHF - UHF repeater
|
| 1. |
In this configuration, the Powerdial cross band
base station is made up of a full duplex UHF transceiver a second
VHF transceiver and a Powerdial control unit, housed in a neat,
transportable 19" cabinet. |
 |
| 2. |
The whole base station is taken to the site requiring
UHF radio coverage and plugged into a mains power source (or
12V d.c.). An additional VHF antenna links into your existing
VHF network back to your control room. |
| 3. |
The operator has immediate access to talk to
both VHF mobiles and UHF mobiles (or portables) over the VHF
network - potentially giving UHF coverage over the whole of
your VHF coverage area. |
| 4. |
The operator can change channels, turn UHF talkthrough
on and off (so that mobiles can talk to other mobiles) and perform
other functions, with user friendly voice prompts coming back
over the VHF network to confirm the operators commands. This
is done by keying in numbers on the telephone. eg. Operator
dials "50 099" - Powerdial changes the UHF base station to channel
99 and a voice is heard saying "Channel 099, talkthrough off,
priority off". |
| 5. |
The system can be configured to cross-band repeat
any combination of VHF to UHF, or UHF to VHF (including low
band) etc. |
| 6. |
This system is ideal for "Fill in" sites where
it is uneconomic to put in a land line. |
