|
"POWERDIAL" is a versatile system for
remote control of a radio base station (or similar equipment) from
an ordinary telephone. Simply take the base station with Powerdial
fitted, to site, plug into an ordinary phone socket and attach to
an antenna. The base station can now be controlled from any telephone,
even a mobile phone, provided the operator has the correct security
access code. Functions include: Speech to and from the mobiles,
Switchable talkthrough for Mobile to Mobile calls, Channel change
(up to 128 channels), Priority transmit, and a transmitter or site
alarm.
Functions are confirmed by user friendly voice prompts which the
operator hears down the phone line. A system normally comprises
a Transceiver, Power supply, Powerdial controller and a Phone Patch.
When not in use as a dial up base station, the system can be used
as a stand alone phone patch for mobile to telephone calls and vice
versa.
Powerdial is uniquely versatile in that it does not require any
specialist equipment at the operator end, and the base station can
be left for long periods, without the phone connection, for use
as a talkthrough repeater. The cost of the system can often be saved
by removing the need for a fixed leased line at a particular event.

| Flexibility |
|
Your Radio System can be set up anywhere with a phone line (or
cellular phone with a "BT" style socket) and accessed from anywhere
with a telephone or mobile phone. There are virtually limitless
possibilities!
There is no need to previously arrange a land line connection,
simply turn up and dial up. . A leased line normally has to be rented
over a fixed minimum time period, often outweighing the cost of
a dial up call by a substantial amount.

| High Degree of User Confidence |
| Operators hear clear voice prompts when keying in commands
to confirm the functions requested. All but the most extremely noisy
phone lines will allow reliable control using an advanced DTMF decoder
in the PowerDial |

| Can Be Used as a Phone Patch |
|
Once the Base Station is on site, it can be used as a telephone
patch to allow mobiles to make phone calls, or telephones to call
individual or groups of mobiles.

| Dial Up Control |
|
Dial up control is achieved by dialling the number of the phone
socket into which the base station is plugged from any DTMF telephone.
Two ringing tones are heard then a short burst of second dial tone.
After this, dial in the security access code and the connection
is made to the mobiles. The operator does not have to press a PTT
button during conversation as the system is automatic. Mobiles simply
key up when they need to talk to the operator.
The operator controls the functions of the base station by keying
in the required code on the DTMF telephone. A phone with memories
is useful as this speeds up the process and functions can be changed
with single key strokes. A keypad and headset arrangement gives
the operator a "control room" environment to work with, indeed any
control room equipment with access to the telephone network can
call the base station and where capable, patch calls to other fixed
or dial up sites. e.g.
- Talkthrough On 9011
- Talkthrough Off 9010
- Priority Tx On 9021
- Priority Tx Off 9020
- Channel Change 50XXX
- Status of base station 99
NB. these codes can be changed to users preference during manufacture.
The telephone patch functions, short code dial numbers, user access
and security access codes can be reprogrammed over the telephone
line without having to go to the remote site. The status of the
base station (e.g. channel number, talkthrough on/off) will remain
the same when the telephone line is cleared down, allowing the operator
to enable or disable its use in a defined manner once the line is
cleared down.
