For Hands-Free Operation of Private Mobile Radio
(PMR) radios
The Microphone Interface Unit (MIU-2) meets the needs for a safer
means of communicating whilst driving. Using state of the art technology
the unit provides excellent clarity of speech and noise suppression. It is
easy to install and the host radio requires no modification.
Designed to meet the needs of the Police Forces, Fire Brigades,
Emergency Services and similar users, the MIU 2 replaces a fist microphone
or telephone handset and offers semi hands-free operation of a mobile radio
telephone. It can be configured to most types of PMR.
The press to talk (PTT) function uses a rugged switch module, which
can be mounted on the gear stick, vehicle instrument panel or on a swan
neck. A further electronic function alters timed transmit for complete
hands free operation of the mobile. The TechnoTrend MIC-1 microphone unit
that is supplied with the MIU-2, enables the user to custom fit the unit to
the vehicle without the need to cut or drill the internal trim.
